The Traffic Generator is an option feature of the Protocol Analyzer. In use since 2007, The LnK Traffic Generator is an industry reference. It is so far the only vector of SLIMbus chipset interoperability. The SLIMbus Traffic generator allows the user to generate any kind of SLIMbus compliant bit streams. The generator output can either be a VCD file to feed a simulation or electical signals to stimulate real devices. The generator uses XML scripts to define the SLIMbus events. It has the unique ability to insert errors at bit level, to test and trigger error conditions on the device under test. The LnK SLIMbus Traffic Generator is the ultimate tool to test your devices at simulation level or in silicon.

ScriptBuilder is the companion software of the Traffic Generator. With ScriptBuilder, it is possible to build very sophistacted XML scripts without having to worry about the compliancy of the script to the SLIMbus specification. ScriptBuilder embed a fully featured SLIMbus protocol simulator that ensures that the parameter values of the messages and the framing information are always correct. The user is then free to alter the compliant stream to inject errors at the desired positions. ScriptBuilder is freely available for download on our Members area. Together with the SLIMbus Bandwidth Management toolbox, ScriptBuilder allows a graphical visualization the bus state over the sequence of events described in the XML test script.
